We all know the ancient story of Noah, but our tale comes with a fresh modern twist. Just like the original Noah, we are eagerly preparing our sanctuary because we can already hear the thunder and know it is starting to rain. Here is a brief look, into our daily lives and the dedicated team making it happen.
First up is Shepherd: The Man, The Myth, The Legend. He runs the entire show as our owner- operator, head farmer, tech guru, and the chief mastermind who loved bacon so much he started this whole gig. As a veteran, he manages the farm's daily operations with absolute military precision. His time in uniform is over, but he still believes in the same servant leadership that was instilled into him as a Non-Commissioned Officer leading teams and squads. Except now, instead of soldiers, his focus is on the safety and well being of everyone and everything on the farm. The pigs are well protected, they are methodically checked on and cared for, and when it comes to those late hours in less than perfect weather, he knows that it is his responsibility to take care of everyone first! Whether he is troubleshooting farm systems with precision, or navigating an actual tractor through a field, ensuring all our systems and our fields are equally functional. He is outstanding in his field- literally and figuratively.
His right-hand woman- well superhuman is Melanie aka the ninja. She is a seasonal expert butcher who is always there when a hand is needed. Her expertise takes her across the country to support not only NAF, but other farm operations. She is exactly the kind of employee every business owner dreams of hiring. Mostly because she never complains about working for chicken feed. As a self-starting, high energy force of nature, she is the ultimate hustler who simply gets "chit" done. Melanie possesses a vast, impressive knowledge base spanning a little bit of absolutely everything. Known as the resident animal whisperer, who speaks fluent, goat, chicken and pig, all animals flock to her and love her. She can solve mechanical mysteries, fix what is broken, implement creative ideas, and instantly brighten everyone's day. Quite simply, she is the indispensable backbone that keeps the entire herd running smoothly and in the right direction.
